Michael K. Hysell, 57, of Streator passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at his residence in Streator.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be his son-in-law, Jessie Davis III; nephews, Dillon Hysell and Nicholas Messer; and friends, Robert Salaz, Bob Grosse and Dave Celeschi. Honorary pallbearers will be his brother, Mark Hysell; and brothers-in-law, Brad Messer, Archie Crouch, Brian Crouch and Brad Crouch.

Born December 17, 1959 in Jacksonville, he was the son of Kenneth and JoAnn (Naylor) Hysell. He married Angie M. Crouch on July 6, 1984 at St. Anthony Church, Streator.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Hysell of Streator; a daughter, Kayla (Jessie) Davis III of Streator; a son, Michael Hysell Jr of Streator; a grandson, Jessie Davis IV of Streator; his mother and father, Kenneth and JoAnn Hysell of Cambridge, Minnesota; a sister, Penny (Brad) Messer of Cambridge, Minnesota; a brother, Mark (Sandy) Hysell of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his nephew Joseph Hysell and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois. He moved to Streator when he was a freshman in High School. He graduated from Streator High Scholl in the class of 1978.

He was a sales representative for Curtis 1000 in this area for over 30 years.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish and the Sandy Ford Sportsmen’s Club. He was also a member of Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790. He volunteered on Family Chicken Nights at the K of C where he earned the nickname “Mash Potato Mike”.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting and boating. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
