Yuba City, Calif. – Roy Michael Lewis, 45, of Yuba City, Calif., formerly of 212 W. LaRue St., died Sunday evening, Oct. 3, 2004 at Rideout Hospital in Marysville, Calif.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elias Funeral Home. Monsignor John Prendergast of Immaculate Conception Church will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Full military rites including honor guard, firing squad, taps and flag folding will be conducted by members of Streator Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post #217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1492.
Pallbearers will be Teresa and Martin Biroschik Jr., Trisha and Gary Nink, Becky and Gary Leibach, Lindsay and Craig Ramza II, all nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb and Alexandria Biroschik, Justin, Jordan and Jenna Nink, Abigayle, Callahan and Celie Leibach, all great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Born July 18, 1959, in Streator, he was the son of Roy D. and Marie (Wargo) Lewis. He married Leslie Gleason. She survives.
Also surviving are a son Jacob James Lewis of Yuba City, Calif.; a brother Dale Michael Lewis of Long Beach, Calif.; sisters, Gayle (Mrs. Martin Sr.) Biroschik and Donna (Mrs. Craig) Ramza both of Streator; two half-brothers, Norman (Judy) Lewis of Dwight and Melvin Lewis of Morris; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He attended local grade schools and Streator High School.
He served in the United States Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. and Hawaii.
He was a self-employed electrician.
While living in Streator, he was an active volunteer with the SHARE Program.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
